Au Yeung Hing Yee 欧阳兴义

AU YEUNG HING YEE (欽陽興義) Au Yeung Hing Yee was bom in Guangdong, China, in 1945. Part of his childhood was spent in Hong Kong. At the age of 10, gifted wih a powerful artistic talent, he was among a select few in the whole of China to be selected for training at the prestigious Central Academy of Fine Arts, in Beijing. For eleven years, he focused and honed his artistic mastery, from secondary to tertiary level. He has won many highly acclaimed awards in Asia,.

In 1957, he won the China National Children Protection Committee Distinction Award.
In 1987 and 1989, he won the first prize in the Singapore Ministry of Communication and Information Art Competition and Exhibition.
In 1989, he won the first prize in The Hong Kong Graphics Art Competition.
In 1988, he won the IBM distinction award.
In 1992, he won the Dr. Tan Tsze Char distinction award, named after the famous Singaporean philanthropist.
In 1983, he held a solo exhibition on the Historic Traditions of Hong Kong and Macau in Hong Kong.
In 2005, he had a successful solo exhibition in Singapore entitled "Cruising the Water Canals of Europe and China".
In 1987 and 1988, his works were collected into the Anthology of Works by Famous Overseas Chinese Artists and the Compendium of China Masters in Calligraphy and Paintings.

A highly creative individual talented in many fields, Au Yeung Hing Yee was nominated for the Best Artistic Direction Award at the 4th Hong Kong Film Awards» which endorsed his strong sense of aesthetics and his artistic mastery across different mediums. Since his youth, he has visited over 200 cities and heritage sites in the world and has published over ten thousand works of arts, poetry, essays, travel literature and biographies of artists such as Xu Bei Hong in Singapore and Nanyang Master Painter Lee Man Fong.
