Zhang Chun Lei was born in Shanghai, China in 1969. In his early years, he served as an apprentice under renowned Chinese painting artist Master Jiang Feng Bai. He graduated from Suzhou Institute of Silk Textile Technology (currently known as Suzhou University, School of Arts) with a professional certificate in decoration design in July 1992. He specialises in traditional Chinese Painting, Woodburn painting, engraving and carving works, watercolour and oil painting. The artist strongly believes that art can inspire spontaneity and allow us to appreciate the beauty of common objects around us that are often taken for granted. His judgement of beauty has been greatly influenced by the Lao Zhuang Philosophy, which holds that time deepens our understanding and heightens our sensitivity to the beauty of our surroundings. His style is a fusion of figurative and abstract art, connecting abstract qualities with reality to obtain equilibrium between the two purportedly mutually exclusive techniques; the composition involves the melding of dots and lines, and a variety of colours. 30 pieces of acrylic artwork will be showcased in this art exhibition.

My 40th birthday in 2012 has great significance, gathering the courage to stage my 1stsolo oil painting art exhibition. The resounding success of the event was filled with applause and praises. Time flies, as a year and a half lapsed, my inner pride that was intoxicated by those flatteries is now imploring for greater inspiration.
